Men are not responsible for The Word Of God until the commandment comes. God did not introduce Christian Water Baptism [immersion in water] until Christ commanded it. [He that believes and is baptized [immersed] shall be saved] Baptism for the dead is [*apparently] intercession for those who had believed and confessed the Lord Jesus but passed away before they had opportunity to fulfil the commandment of Christ in water baptism. [*We have no example of the fulfilling of this in the scriptures, our only safe guide.] The scriptural example is to baptize believers immediately and that those who Believe Not [does not say are baptized not] shall be damned. I would warn any against adding to or removing from the doctrine of The Lord. -david
